2013 could be a really good year for Apple, because they finally decided to switch their product release strategy. I observed this for the first time last year, when they released iPad mini in the same year with iPad 4. In 2013, they are preparing even more variations of their original products. As everyone knows, they are will release a new iPhone this year (iPhone5s or iPhone 6
), but the rumors don’t stop here. Business Insider announced that those who are waiting for a new iPhone could get a bigger surprise, because Apple is preparing 3 new smartphones this year.
“Several iPhone 6 prototypes appear to be floating around. The model with a 4.8″ screen is the most interesting. It has a Retina+ IGZO screen, a new A7 quad-core processor variant, and a new form factor with no home button. Full gesture control is also possibly included.“ said Jefferies analyst Peter Misek
The rumors began on the Asian market, and it seems that two new Apple smartphones will be released in June 2013. Taiwan’s Commercial Times, China Times and Bright Wire had obtained important informations in this regard stating that Apple will release iPhone 5S with 4” display, and shortly after that they will release a new phone called iPhone Math with a 4.8” display. The third phone will be released at the end of the year and it will feature a 12 megapixel camera. If the rumors are true, this means that iPhone 5S will not feature a 12 megapixel camera, leaving my with a question: if that is not the main upgrade, which one is it?
This is a sign that Apple finally understood that diversity is the next big thing (probably observing the latest success of Samsung’s smartphones). We’ll have to wait and see if the rumors are actually true. I’m sure they will probably leak few pics or prototypes in order to create a buzz, and see the feedback of the consumers. They tend to be good at that.
