The first Tizen smartphones surfaced

Tizen OS

As I said in a previous article, trends come and go, and this applies to smartphones and mobile operating systems. If now, in 2013, most users have Android and iOS operating their smartphones, in few years we can expect a new OS to rule them all. Samsung is not sleeping on its popularity, and is working really hard to develop a well thought out operating system that could become an alternative to Android.

Amazon Smartphone release date

Amazon-Smartphone-Concept

Being the largest and most trusted online store in the world has its advantages: when you release a new product everyone pays attentions. Amazon learn this lesson a long time ago, with their revolutionary eReader: Kindle. Later, they saw a real importunity when the tablet market blew, and created the Kindle Fire tablet,  which was pretty successful. Since then, there were rumors and speculations about Amazon trying to get a piece of the smartphone market, but we never got a taste of the actual Amazon smartphone. I guess they were trying to develop a phone with a display under 4” when the market demand switched on smartphones with larger displays, making their plan obsolete. So, Amazon had to rethink their whole strategy in order to create a competitive smartphone.

All the rumors are converging to a release date around mid 2013, when Amazon will unveil their new 4.7” smartphone. The smartphone could have enhanced features, and we can expect a solid product since they are working with Foxconn International Holdings (FIH) in order to complete this project.

Windows Phone Surface N is a concept phone that’s pretty thin, transparent and has a super-resolution screen like no other: 3,840 x 2,160.
