The release of Samsung Galaxy S9 and Samsung Galaxy S9+ created a real buzz on the Internet. To tell you the truth, this is probably the first time when I want to get a Samsung phone so badly. But leaving all hardware specs aside, how tough is the Galaxy S9+ in terms of physical endurance? The TechRax vlogger subjected a Galaxy S9+ to an extreme resistance test.
In the following video we can see how a Galaxy S9+ behaves when it is hit with a dagger, then with a hammer. Even though the screen resists pretty well when it is hit with the tip of a knife, the paint on the edge goes off very fast.
The back resists pretty well when the dagger strikes, but it cracks completely when the kick is much stronger.
Likewise, the screen cracks after a few hit several times with the hammer, but the phone still works. Even when the screen is almost completely destroyed and the phone is broken, the battery does not get hot and does not swell at all. This is a good sign, it means that Samsung has learn from previous Note 7 failures and it has solved the battery problem.
Of course, no one will submit a Galaxy S9 + to such harsh tests in a normal life scenario. However, it should be noted that similar experiments conducted by EverythingApplePro showed how this model behaves when it is dropped from the height in comparison with Apple’s iPhone X. The S9+ smartphone performed better than the iPhone X or the old Galaxy, but it did not have any impressive results either. It is understandable that resistance is not a strong point, because the iPhone X and Galaxy S9+ have a glass case. Which one do you like more and why?
