Talking every day about all these top-notch smartphones like Samsung Galaxy S5, HTC One or iPhone 5S, we tend to forget that most cell phone manufacturers are releasing a lot of mid-range smartphones, some of them that really worth our attention. The trend of 2014 in terms of smartphone is all about large displays. That’s probably the reason why HTC decided to use a 5-inch screen with an resolution of 540 x 960 pixels on their HTC Desire 516. I know, it’s not much compared to their flagship device – the HTC One, but as I said, this is not their top of the line device.
The manufacturer decide to add a Qualcomm Snapdragon 200 quad-core processor clocked at 1.2 GHz, 1GB of RAM and 4GB of internal storage (that can be extended to 32GB via microSD card). The main camera has 5MP and can record 720p videos. There is also a 2MP camera on board and a removable battery of 1950mAh.
As expected, the device runs Android 4.3 with a customized version. Desire 516 will be available for 179 Euros on the European market. It comes in two versions: black and white.
