Myo: The perfect gadget for games and entertainment
3 young tech enthusiasts have created a gadget that could reinvent the gaming industry. Large IT companies have already shown interest in Myo, the revolutionary bracelet that captures the electrical activity of the muscles.
Myo was created by Thalamic Labs, a startup company founded by three graduates of the University of Waterloo, Canada, Department of Mechatronics. The gadget measures the electrical activity of the muscles in order to detect fine movements of the arm. The bracelet is able to communicate with computers, smartphones and tablets.
The project captured a lot of interest from major companies like Intel, and it received 15 million dollars founding for the development process. We should be able to buy Myo in the first quarter of 2014. We’ll see two more related gadgets released in the same period of time, the Leap Motion and Google Glass.
