Samsung launches Galaxy Note Fan Edition, a smartphone built from Note 7’s parts

Smartphones
Samsung has officially launched an unique smartphone that is made from the remaining components they have from all the Galaxy Note 7 that were returned back to them. This smartphone is called the Galaxy Note Fan Edition, and Samsung makes no secret of the fact that it's a "Reinforced Note 7". The only difference is the battery - Samsung chose a smaller battery of 3,200 mAh, compared to the 3,500 mAh battery that was on Note 7. The battery has been subjected to a new extended testing process that Samsung has set up after the withdrawal of Note 7, in an attempt to wash their bad history in this regard. Another difference to Note 7 is the software. Galaxy Note Fan Edition uses the new software and new applications that…

HP Specter x360 13: The Best Convertible you Can buy right now

Tablets
Let me start with this: HP Spectre x360 13 is the most beautiful convertible I have seen in a long time. I liked it in the press releases back in October last year and I liked its presentation during CES 2017. For readiness and enjoyability (keyboard + touchpad + screen), this cool gadget is among the best laptops I've seen this year, and I did had the pleasure to test many of them. HP Specter X360 is a 13-inch ultrabook with reduced edges, convertible hinge and touchscreen display. It uses Intel Kaby Lake Core i5 processors, it has 8GB of RAM, PCI-Express SSD memory, 2 Thunderbolt 3 ports, and a standard USB port with battery bank features. Apple iPad Pro 10.5” teardown confirms 4GB RAM and 8.134 mAh battery

Apple iPad Pro 10.5” teardown confirms 4GB RAM and 8.134 mAh battery

Apple
Apple iPad Pro 10.5'' is on sale for a few hours in stores all over the world and folks at iFixit have already been able to open it and disassemble it to the last chip. No wonder nobody knows the repair index is extremely low - as usual - two in ten. Among the major issues that were found in the teardown we can count: High amount of stickers that blocks the battery, and no tab to extract it as it did in iPad Pro last year. The Smart Connector port is virtually impossible to replace, but it does not have any moving parts so it is a small chance to break down. The LCD display and front panel glass are fused together; The opening of the device is, consequently,…

Mozilla Firefox 54 faster than ever due to process separation

Mozilla Firefox 54 faster than ever due to process separation

Cool Gadgets
Mozilla makes a step forward with the Electrolysis/Multiple content processes project. It's a goal to separate tab and extensions processes to speed up page loading. Developed for several months, this technology has finally reached a level of maturity that can be implemented with the arrival of Firefox 54 for desktop systems. Previous versions of Firefox used a single process to run all the tabs in a single instance, using too many hardware resources. To streamline this type of operation and align Firefox with the competition, E10s or Electrolysis was made available to everyone (first, it had to be manually enabled by the card about: config), greatly increasing the page load speed by dividing the load of Browser work between four distinct processes. Mozilla made a statement about it, saying that…
