A new mobile OS will make its debut on the market on November 27 this year, in Finland. Its name is Sailfish and it is developed by Jolla, a team composed of former Nokia engineers. The first device that features the Sailfish OS will be released in limited quantities, but there is a small chance to get your hands on it if you are from another country.

The smartphone will be initially sold only in Helsinki, Finnish by the operator called DNA. The Sailfish smartphone can be acquired at an attractive price: €399.

The Jolla smartphone has a 4.5 inch screen with a resolution of 960 x 540 pixels. Inside it we will find a dual-core Snapdragon processor clocked at 1.4 Ghz 400, 1 GB RAM, 16 GB of expandable memory via microSD, an 8 megapixel digital camera and a 4G LTE chip. The smartphone will be available in 9 colors and weighs only 141 grams. Its dimensions are of 131 x 68 x 9.9 mm. Of course, it runs Sailfish, an OS based on MeeGo, therefore an open source software.

The first 450 customers who order the device will be able to attend the launch event, during which they will enter in its possession. The Jolla company promised a while ago that it will be released on additional markets, but in this moment no further details were released.
