As we know, each ime Microsoft prepares a new version of its wide-known Operating System we get a new logo image (or at least a new version of the previous logo). Microsoft’s Windows logo has evolved from the first version that ran under MS DOS operating system (Windows 1, 3.1) to Windows 98, 2000, XP, Vista and Windows 7. The popular Windows logo got a new facelift with the new Windows 8 and Windows 10.

“We wanted the logo to be both classic and modern,” said Sam Moreau, a Director of Microsoft at the time. “By using bold colors, clean lines and shapes, the new logo has characteristics found in airports and subway stations” said Moreau.

Windows 8 logo was created by three designers: Paula Scher, Michael Beirut and Daniel Weil of Pentagram. Pentagram agency is known for design companies like Nokia, Reuters, Toshiba, Nissan, Polaroid, Bloomberg, Amazon Kindle, Rolls-Royce, Norton Antivirus, The New York Times Magazine and TDK.
