Amazon’s Kindle has been dominating the eBook Reader market for years now, even if other companies have created new and interesting readers with features that surpass the famous Kindle. The new Kobo Aura One might just be the player that could change the game, since it is a 7.8-inch screen eBook reader resistant to water.

The new Kobo has a 7.8-inch Carta screen with 1,872 x 1,404 resolution, 300ppi. It measures measures 195.1mm x 138.5mm and it weights 226g. There is no dedicated physical button for turning pages, so you’ll have to adjust to using the touchscreen. The reader has a feature called ComfortLight PRO that will change the brightness and screen temperature according to the light levels in the room.
Under the hood we find a 1GHz processor and 512MB of RAM offering just enough power for this type of device. You can store up to 6000 eBooks on the 8GB internal memory. According to Kobo, Aura One will last up to one month before you need to charge it. Although this means that it is the perfect gadget for your vacation, let’s not forget that Amazon’s Paperwhite lasts 6 weeks. It supports the following formats: EPUB, EPUB3, PDF and MOBI e-books; JPEG, GIF, PNG, BMP and TIFF images; TXT, HTML, XHTML and RTF text; CBZ and CBR comic books.
