HMD Global, the Finnish company that owns Nokia, is working on a new budget smartphone. According to NokiaPowerUser, the name of the new smartphone is Nokia 5.4 and will be the successor to Nokia 5.3, launched in March 2020. Below, you will find few details about the new Nokia phone.
According to the information that’s available online right now, Nokia 5.4 will integrate a selfie camera framed in a circular cutout. This would be a change from Nokia 5.3 which has a drop notch on the front. We can also expect a 6.4 inch screen, and the phone will be available in two versions – 4GB RAM + 64GB storage and 4GB RAM + 128GB storage.
The smartphone will initially be available in two colors: blue and purple, but there will be more color options after launch. We don’t have other information about the new mid-range Nokia yet, but we can expect updated hardware.
Nokia 5.4 – An interesting design
With the Nokia 5.3, the Finnish company also introduced the quad camera. Thus, for Nokia 5.4 we can also expect a quad setup in the back, and the phone will be included in the Android One program. We don’t know yet if it will arrive with Android 10 or Android 11 on board, but running Android One, the updates will arrive without delay. Nokia 5.3 has a 4000 mAh battery and charges at only 10W. Thus, it is possible that the new model will receive at least a fast charge, if not a more generous battery.
The report states that the launch of the new Nokia 5.4 will take place “sooner than we expect”. Recently, the phone was listed by several Australian retailers in the version with 4GB RAM and 128 GB of storage at a price of 215 euros. We can thus expect a lower price for the model with 64GB of storage.
