According to Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, the cheaper iPhone 2018 with the 6.1-inch LCD display will be available later this year. It will not be in stores until October, while the device featuring premium OLED screen will be available from late September.
The LCD screen model and the 6.5 inch OLED screen iPhone 2018 Plus, will also have dual-SIM versions in some countries, writes GSM Arena.
Kuo contradicts previous rumors and claims that this year’s iPhone models will not be compatible with Apple Pencil. Instead, the larger iPhone X (iPhone 2018) Plus model could have the split screen that can be used for multitasking. This way, users can run multiple apps simultaneously.
In a previous report released by Bloomberg we learned the latest details on the specifications of the three new iPhone models. According to this report, all three models will have edge-to-edge design and they will feature the popular “notch”. The Touch ID will be replaced with Face ID.
The new iPhones will also have an interface that will allow commands via gestures, the technology that Apple introduced last year to the iPhone X. The three models are named for their code name: N84 (cheaper version with LCD screen), D32 (iPhone X successor) and D33 (iPhone X Plus). Fans will be able to choose between three different models at different prices: there will be a cheaper model, but also a very expensive iPhone – the iPhone X Plus model.
The D32 and D33 will have improvements in processor speed, but also in cameras, a feature that’s waited for most of their fans. The iPhone X Plus model will have a dual camera on the back. Although some websites have announced an iPhone with triple camera system, this may not be the case here.
The new iPhone models will be officially presented on September 12th.
