Most people will agree that Tattoos are really nice, especially when they are done right. But smart tattoos, that’s a whole new thing that adds a lot of flavor in the mix. The start-up called Chaotic Moon has worked with Tech Tats in order to develop temporary electronic tattoos that are embedded under the human skin.
Obviously, these tattoos are thicker than their traditional inked counterparts and they incorporate various electronic components, micro-controllers and LED lights. In addition to their visual purpose, these tech tattoos can detect the stress level, body temperature, blood pressure or heart rate. The collected data can be then transmitted to a mobile application, for example, through the electroconductive paint. Another advantage over conventional bracelets or activity trackers is that these temporary tattoos will last for a longer period of time on the skin.
Tech Tats can have multiple uses: they can be used in military fields in order to monitor the health of soldiers, or they can be used at home in case of illness. They can also be used to track a person or a child. I still have a concern about them though. It will take a lot of time to explain the concept behind the electronic tattoo. The public could be a bit reticent to the idea.
Here is a collection of other electronic tattoos that follow a similar concept:
